Summary: The taproom server is responsible for providing excellent service to all of our customers. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and independent worker able to handle a high-volume and fast-paced work environment. Must have a strong work ethic, great social skills, the ability to multi-task and the desire to work as a team player.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Greets and serves customers in a professional and timely manner.
Serves beer, nonalcoholic drinks and snacks in accordance with tap room standard.
Takes food orders and enters them into POS.
Applies knowledge of the full beer lineup, beverages and other information such as brewery hours and types of payment.
Maintains a clean bar at all times wiping bar regularly, disposing of debris and bottles and washing glasses behind the bar as needed.
Checks and maintains stock of glassware, beverages and bar supplies and communicates shortages to appropriate person.
Records currency transactions accurately on POS and tenders proper change.
Processes charge transaction through charge transmittal machine and prints, reviews and submits a daily charge report to the Manager.
Completes all assigned opening and closing duties to prepare bar for efficient operation.
Stocks refrigerating units with bottled beer.
Assists in the maintenance of equipment includes lubing beverage machines, cleaning floor mats and beverage coolers
Communicates health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.
Assists with answering the telephone and taking messages to give to the proper personnel when time allows.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge:
Be at least 21 years of age. Have the ability to work around alcohol.
Previous experience in the craft beer, bar, or service industry.
Knowledge of craft beer styles and the craft brewing process.
Have engaging communication skills and get along well with others.
Availability for a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience with a point of sale system and credit card transactions.
Experience with draft systems and clean bar operations including glass and growler washing and filling, sweeping and mopping floors, straightening, cleaning tables/bar, cleaning restrooms and other duties typical of taproom operations.
Safe Alcohol Service Training, TIPS, or responsible vendor training is required. This training will be provided for the right individual.
Comprehensive knowledge of craft beer, a good sense of smell, and the ability to distinguish flavors and colors in beer.
Certified Beer Server (MBAA) or Cicerone Server certification. This training will be provided for the right individual.
